Let Start! [Retro 000]

Retro 000

Welcome to my first Retro. I have recently been mulling over whether I should also start "Building in Public". I see no demerits in doing this. I have been stuck in a mindless flow state for a long time. Life is forging ahead in self-driving mode. I want to change that. Every time I tried, my mind kind of sabotaged me. The laziness took control over my goals. It's been like this for months. Then I stumbled upon Cory's site and I thought I should also give it a try.

So what are my goals that I will be trying to achieve?

  1. I want to ship an app to the public.
  2. I want to gain AWS certification.
  3. I want to have a healthy exercise routine.

These will be my primary goals. I have many things I wish to do. So in the happy case where I achieve all the primary goals, I shall update with new goals to achieve. Some of the goals I have in my mind would take a lifetime to achieve. The timeline for these goals will be the coming year. This is because I have other commitments and I do not want to perform subpar effort. Neither will I.

How will I achieve this?

In the coming weeks, I will be posting weekly retros where I will dissect how my weekly goals are going. I will also add new tasks towards the goals that I will be trying to achieve the next week. I am starting small. I don't want to overwhelm myself with a huge wall initially.

Next week's goals

  1. Publish the weekly retro.
  2. Wireframe the user flow in the MVP app.
  3. Walk for at least 30 mins daily.
  4. Think about a very small thing that I could develop and ship in a day.

These retros will in no way be polished for the general public. But if you find these interesting, please cheer me on. I haven't added any commenting feature. Writing a blog is not my current primary goal. So I don't want to go down unnecessary rabbit holes. If I find time then I might add the same.

Actually, I have posted the same things on LinkedIn as an anonymous person, where I was immediately struck down with a suspended account as I was violating their policy. Yeah, I understand they want to have their users following their policy. But it was kind of a small blow to my efforts. I lost the very first bit of effort. I lost a couple of posts that I had made. But I have learned my lesson. So I was required to have my own site, which means sadly spending money and additional efforts. I don't want to be at the mercy of some policy again. Given that this post will mostly not be seen by anyone, I will be polishing the site later.

Why would I post as an anonymous person? Well, let's say there are quite a few reasons. Regardless, I will commit to my goals.
