So what happened?
Publishing the retro went smoothly. I was able to quickly conjure up a website to make it happen, so I will not be at the mercy of the tech overlords. I'm pretty happy with this task.
Wireframing the app: The initial screen was developed but then I hit a roadblock. The idea that I had in my mind is not translating to design. I want something simple. I think this is because of the overwhelming ideas in my mind for the final product. This makes it hard for me to understand what core functionality I need to focus on for the MVP. I should focus on completing this task this week. I'm not happy with this.
Looking back at the app that I used to track the 3rd task. I can see that I followed this for 3 days. Which is better than nothing but still is not enough.
The last item in the goal. This is something I'm not forcing much. Identifying an issue which could be solved easily is much harder. This is because most of these are minor itching and many(including me) will have habitual autopilot available. I will still continue to look for these.
Why subpar performance and how can I improve it?
The current routines that I have is holding me back. I consume a lot of video content. I don't I can turn off this urge to consume very easily. I would have to gradually reduce its exposure. I have to replace this with something productive. I have a few ideas in my mind.
- I will use an extension called LeetBlock NG to remind me to stop consuming. Once the time is reached the website will be redirected to my new Oath page. For social media sites, it will be redirected to a blog where I can learn about various new technologies. (I had my social media browsing on my laptop long ago. Controlling this on a phone is much harder.)
- In theory, I could convert the time I spend consuming media to exercise. I could walk while watching. A thread mill would facilitate this. Will it be a waste of money? This is what prevents me from buying one.
- I will also measure the progress that Im making towards this.
Motivation
My friend recently joined a company with more than 3x my current compensation. I should also try to improve my interview and DSA skills.
